Garden Mandala: Invocation

GOD, as we find You in the waters,

as we find You in the depths of reflection of a deep, still pool,
as we find You in the patience of a small creek which moves mountains,
as we find You in the awesome majesty of the ocean,
as we find You in the refreshment of a cup of water,

Be with us this evening as we flow together, our small currents joining into a powerful river.

GOD, as we find You in the fires,

as we find You in the burning bush,
as we find You in the purification of the cleansing flame,
as we find You in the warmth and lifesource of the sun,
as we find You in the gentle glow of candlelight,

Be with us this evening as we recognize each other as stars in earthly constellations.

GOD, as we find You in the earth,

as we find You in rich soil which nourishes and informs us,
as we find You as a rock upon which we can rely,
as we find You in the landscape which gives form to our lives,
as we find You in the bounty and abundance of your gifts,

Be with us this evening as we nourish and sustain each other.

GOD, as we find You in the winds,

as we find You in our centering breath,
as we find You in the rousing fanfare of trumpets,
as we find You in the wind which fills our soul-sails, blowing us along our course,
as we find You in the air-shapes of our exchanged words,

Be with us this evening as our breath and voice combine in psalm and prayer.
